Setting up the beach house has been a labour of love for me. However, all the building, decorating and managing of the beach house has been a team effort right from the very beginning. So, let me introduce you to the team...

Mahinda

The beach house manager and my all round right-hand man! Anyone meeting Mahinda will be charmed by his warmth, openness and honesty. We work well together and my meeting Mahinda for the first time was certainly a moment of serendipity for me.

He has a wife, Samanthi and a 6 year old son, Tarindu and like Chintaka's family, who are their close friends and neighbours, he lives only a very short distance from the beach house at a property with a stunning view over the surrounding paddy fields.

Chintaka

The beach house housekeeper and handyman! Chintaka is responsible for ensuring that the house stays clean and in good repair. Like Mahinda, Chintaka also played a major part in the construction of the house and the present, beautiful look of the place owes a great deal to him!

Chintaka has a wife, Enoka, a 8 year old son, Kavindu, and a 4 year old daughter called Malindi.

Gavin Gillham

Working for an IT company with an office in Colombo brought me to Sri Lanka in the first place - back in September 2000. I was instantly charmed by the people, their culture and the fantastically beautiful natural landscape. I used to split my time between living in Sri Lanka and UK but now live in Bath, UK fulltime as I have a small family of my own now - Jasper (3 years old) and Isabelle (22 months).

As well as being my beautiful home and fun source of income, the Tropical Beach House is my method of re-directing some Western wealth towards my less-well off local friends and so in turn to their family and friends!
